Turkey, stuffing, family, football, and food comas. What do all of these have in common? Thanksgiving. As Thanksgiving approaches, your holiday marketing should be swinging into high gear. Holidays like these present the perfect opportunity to get creative with your marketing and sales strategies. Whether marketing a special promotion, giving away a product or service, or even just sticking a cartoon turkey on your November newsletter will keep you relevant and noticeable during the upcoming months.

Your customers should be what you are most thankful for this holiday season, so you should let them know!? Here are 5 ideas to give them a little something back. It’s time to thank them for supporting your business and using your products and services.

Idea 1: Thanksgiving Promo

Offer a discount on your products or services. Perhaps even use this opportunity to use personalized customer data to upsell on purchases they have made in the past. Thank your customers for staying loyal by giving them a break. A special or promotion is always a good way to attract customers and boost profits to start the season off right.

Idea 2: Say Thanks by featuring your customers on your blog, website or social media.

If you have great customers/clients, then why not show them off and make them feel special by featuring their business or a testimonial on your social media or blog. People love being recognized, and this is an easy and cost-effective way to do so. Remember: Always ask for permission before you publish anything on the internet about your clients or customers.

Idea 3: Show your commitment to community by donating part of your November profits to charity.

Of course, this is not something that all businesses can do, however it is a way to show your customers that you are an active community member. Giving back is something that all of us strive to do, and as a business this can set you a part from your competitors. You could also look for events to sponsor, a high school golf tournament or a local hockey team are great opportunities to get your name in front of people, as well as show off your commitment to community. Tip: Try to choose businesses, charities, teams, events, etc that attract your target market. It’s not the amount of people, it’s the RIGHT people.

Idea 4: Deck out your website, social networks, newsletters, etc in Thanksgiving cheer.

Smack a turkey on your Facebook timeline picture, or wish people a Happy Turkey Day with a creative themed graphic. Little things like this are easy to execute, and illustrate that your company keeps up with holidays and current events. Little touches like this bring holiday cheer to those engaging with you, and who doesn’t love that?

Idea 5: Simply say, Thank you.

Have you ever received a thank you note? It probably made you smile. A simple thank you note goes a long way. You do not need to always do something elaborate to show that you care. If you are on a budget this holiday season, just stay in front of your customers in a positive way by just sending out a Thank You email to all of your customers.

If these ideas inspired you, it may be time to start brainstorming with your team. It is never wise to execute a plan without a strategy, so make sure you outline exactly what you are going to do. Make sure your message gets out there across all of your platforms including your website, social platforms, newsletter, and press releases! Remember, stay consistent, this is your brand, after all.
